The project

A focused voting platform built for Ukraine's Ministry of Culture, used to elect members of the Supervisory Board of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation. It is a single-purpose, high-trust election tool rather than a content site.

An election application is a strange piece of software. It exists for a fixed window, sometimes a single day. It has one function, and that function has to be correct rather than merely usable. Its users arrive once, often on an unfamiliar device, with no interest in learning an interface. And the entire value of the system rests on something the interface cannot demonstrate: that the result is what the voters actually chose.

What we did

DForce designed and developed the voting application.

• A clean candidate voting flow, built as a lightweight React application. The entire journey is see the candidates, choose, confirm.
• Deliberately narrow scope. No dashboard, no account area, no content management. Every feature that is not the vote itself is a feature that can fail during the one window when failure is unacceptable.
• A trust-sensitive experience appropriate for an official election, where the interface has to make clear what has been recorded and what has not.
• Government-grade reliability for a time-boxed event, where the load is concentrated in a short period and there is no second attempt.

Engineering notes

• Correctness over features. In a normal product, an edge case is a bug report. In an election, it is a disputed result. Scope was cut aggressively for that reason.
• One-time users, zero learning curve. The flow assumes the voter has never seen the application before and will never see it again, so nothing depends on prior familiarity.
• Load arrives all at once. Voting concentrates around announcements and the final hours before the deadline, so the application is built light enough that concentration is not a problem.
• Built for a deadline that cannot move. An election date is set by an institution, not by a sprint plan, which shaped both the scope and the delivery approach.
