How much does a Telegram bot cost in 2026? Prices for business bots

How much a Telegram bot costs depends far less on Telegram than on the job you give it. With an AI-first team, a Telegram bot that handles one business task (enquiries, booking, a catalogue, order status, notifications or payments) costs from $750 and takes 3-7 days; an AI chatbot that answers from your own documents is $1,250-3,750, and a production chatbot wired into your CRM or helpdesk is $5,000-18,750. Standard development quotes from $3,000 and 12-28 days for the same one-task bot, so these prices are 4 times cheaper and 4 times faster.
You already know what a good bot feels like. In Ukraine most people check a power outage schedule, a parcel status or a utility bill in a bot without thinking about it: tap a button, get an answer, no call, no app to install. A business bot is the same idea pointed at your customers and your team. Below is what each kind costs to build and to run, what bot builders charge per month, and where the money actually goes.
How much does a Telegram bot cost in 2026?
Published 2026 guides price custom bots much higher than most owners expect. Vendr's February 2026 pricing guide puts simple bots (FAQ automation, basic notifications) at $5,000-15,000, bots with CRM integration and multi-step workflows at $15,000-35,000, and bots with payment processing or advanced AI at $35,000-100,000+, plus 15-25% of the build cost a year for maintenance. Those figures assume a team typing every line by hand.
Our prices are the same scope divided by four, in money and in time:
| What the bot does | DForce (AI-first) | Standard development |
|---|---|---|
| Telegram bot for one business task: menu, enquiries, booking, catalogue, order status, notifications or payments | from $750, 3-7 days | from $3,000, 12-28 days |
| AI chatbot on your own data: one channel, one or two document sources, answers with citations, handoff to a person | $1,250-3,750, 3.5-7 days | $5,000-15,000, 2-4 weeks |
| Production chatbot with CRM or helpdesk: live data lookups, a test set of real questions, logging | $5,000-18,750, 1.5-3 weeks | $20,000-75,000, 6-12 weeks |
The lower price is not thinner work. AI writes most of the code, and senior engineers design the dialogue logic, integrations and error handling and review every change, so the same working bot takes fewer hours. Running costs are separate and are covered further down, because nobody can divide a hosting bill or a model provider's invoice by four.
What does a business Telegram bot actually do?
Almost every useful business bot is built from the same handful of jobs:
- Menus instead of commands. Customers tap buttons, so nobody gets stuck on
the first screen typing
/startand guessing what comes next. - Enquiries and booking. The bot asks the questions your manager would ask, then books a service, a time slot or a specialist without a phone call. Right for clinics, salons, repair shops and studios.
- Catalogue and payments. Products or services with prices, an order, and payment without leaving the chat.
- Order status on request. The customer types an order number or taps "My orders" and gets the current status from your system, the way a delivery service bot shows a parcel.
- Notifications. Order updates for customers; new enquiries, payments and daily reports for your team, sent the moment something happens.
- Hand-off to your CRM and to people. Every enquiry lands in your CRM or a Google Sheet, and anything the bot should not decide goes to a manager with the conversation attached.
Each item on this list is roughly one "business task" in our pricing. A bot that takes bookings and also sends reminders is still a small build; a bot that runs your whole sales funnel, payments and support in one place is several tasks and is scoped as such.
What drives the price of a Telegram bot?
The Telegram part is the cheap part. The price comes from five things:
- How many tasks the bot does. One clear scenario with a few branches is a few days of work. Every extra scenario adds texts, states and tests.
- Where the data lives. A bot that writes enquiries into a Google Sheet is simple. A bot that reads live stock, prices or order statuses from your CRM, shop or 1C-style accounting system needs an integration for each source, and integrations are usually the biggest line in any quote. If you do not have a system to connect yet, that is a separate project; see our CRM development page.
- Payments. For physical goods and services Telegram takes no commission, but you still connect a payment provider, handle failed payments and refunds, and match payments to orders. Digital goods sold inside Telegram have to be paid in Telegram Stars, which is a different flow again.
- Admin side. Someone has to change prices, texts and schedules. A Google Sheet as the admin panel is cheap; a custom admin panel with roles is a small web application on top of the bot.
- Free-text questions. Buttons cover predictable actions. The moment customers are expected to type questions in their own words, you are paying for an AI chatbot, which is the second row of the table.
A Telegram Mini App, a web page that opens inside Telegram with its own interface, is a different product: it is priced as a small web application, not as a bot.
What does a Telegram bot cost to run every month?
These are third-party costs, paid directly to the provider, and they are the same whoever builds the bot:
| Running cost | Typical monthly figure |
|---|---|
| Telegram Bot API | Free for ordinary traffic |
| Hosting, simple bot on a small server | $5-15 |
| Hosting, bot with a database | $15-50 |
| AI model usage, if the bot answers in free text | $100-2,000, depending on volume |
| Payment provider | The provider's own fee per payment; Telegram adds nothing for physical goods |
The hosting figures come from a 2026 running-cost comparison published by iTechGuides in October 2026. One more line matters only for large audiences: Telegram's free broadcast limit is about 30 messages a second, and paid broadcasts above it cost 0.1 Telegram Stars per message. A shop sending a promotion to a few thousand subscribers will never touch it.
Bot builder or custom bot: which is cheaper?
Bot builders such as SendPulse and BotHelp are a fair choice, and for many small businesses the right one. Their published plan prices in October 2026:
| Builder plan | Price |
|---|---|
| SendPulse, free | $0 for up to 500 subscribers, 3 bots, 10,000 messages a month |
| SendPulse Pro | $12 a month billed monthly ($9.60 billed annually) at 500 subscribers, rising with the audience |
| BotHelp | $18 a month for 1,000 subscribers, $52 for 5,000, $94 for 10,000, $299 for 50,000 |
Vendr's 2026 guide adds that small businesses typically pay $10-50 a month for such platforms, plus $500-2,000 one-time if a specialist sets the bot up.
A builder is enough when the bot is a menu, a few ready answers, a lead form and broadcasts, and your audience is a few thousand people. It stops being enough when:
- the bot has to read live data: order status, stock, prices, free slots;
- it has to act in your systems: create a deal, reserve a slot, update an order;
- your hand-off rules are specific to your business;
- the subscriber-based price outgrows the cost of owning the bot.
The last point is simple arithmetic. At 10,000 subscribers BotHelp costs $1,128 a year, every year. A one-task custom bot is from $750 once, plus $60-180 a year of hosting. For the general version of this crossover, including Zapier-style automation platforms, see our comparison of automation platforms and custom builds.
When is it worth adding AI to a Telegram bot?
Add AI when customers write questions in their own words and the answers already exist in your documents: delivery terms, price lists, warranty rules, what fits which model. Keep buttons for everything predictable, because "check my order" or "book Tuesday at 15:00" does not need a language model and should never guess. Most good bots combine the two: buttons for routine actions, AI for everything else, and a person for money, refunds and exceptions.
An AI chatbot only pays off if it answers from your sources and admits when it does not know. How to build one that does not invent answers, and why retrieval beats retraining a model, is covered in detail in how to build an AI chatbot trained on your own data. If the bot grows into an assistant that takes actions across several systems, it becomes an agent, priced in AI agent development cost.
How can you lower the cost of a Telegram bot?
- Start with one task. Pick the question your team answers most often, or the step customers drop out of, and automate that. The second task is cheaper once the first one runs.
- Buttons before AI. If the answers are predictable, a button bot is cheaper to build, costs almost nothing to run and never makes things up.
- Use what you already have. A Google Sheet as the admin panel, your existing CRM as the database, your current acquiring for payment links.
- Leave broadcasts to a builder if they are all you need. Paying for custom code to send a weekly newsletter rarely makes sense.
- Pick an AI-first team. The same bot written with AI and reviewed by senior engineers takes a quarter of the hours, so it costs a quarter of the money.
How we build Telegram bots at DForce
Telegram bots already run inside our own products and client systems:
- In Zapyt, our AI lead-finding service, new leads arrive as Telegram cards with Approve, Edit and Skip buttons, so the client approves a reply in one tap.
- In Board Coffee Match, members receive their monthly coffee-meeting recommendations through a Telegram bot and accept, decline or schedule them there.
- For Sewing Lab, a clothing manufacturer, the daily material purchasing list lands in the purchasing chat split by supplier.
- On the Meest Post platform, a Telegram chatbot serves customers who prefer to ask about their parcel rather than look it up.
Every bot starts with a short call and a one-page scope with a fixed price and a launch date. Then a dialogue map: buttons, texts, what the bot does at each step and when it hands over to a person, approved before any code is written. You test the bot in your own Telegram while we build it, and at launch we move it to your account and connect your CRM, sheets or payments. Code is written by an AI pipeline and reviewed by senior engineers, which is why the same bot ships 4 times cheaper and 4 times faster than standard development.
If you know what the bot should do, see Telegram bot development and tell us the task: you get a fixed price before any work starts.
If the bot should feed a CRM, see what a custom CRM costs.
Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to run a Telegram bot every month? The Telegram Bot API itself is free for ordinary traffic. What you pay for is hosting: about $5-15 a month for a simple bot on a small server and $15-50 for a bot with a database, according to 2026 hosting comparisons. A bot with AI answers adds model usage, typically $100-2,000 a month depending on volume. These are third-party costs paid directly to the provider, so they are the same whoever builds the bot.
At what number of subscribers does a bot builder cost more than a custom Telegram bot? At the plan prices published in October 2026, SendPulse is free up to 500 subscribers and BotHelp costs $18 a month for 1,000, $94 for 10,000 and $299 for 50,000. At 10,000 subscribers that is $1,128 a year for BotHelp alone, more than a one-task custom bot from $750 plus $60-180 a year of hosting. Below a few thousand subscribers, with menus and ready answers only, a builder is usually cheaper.
Does Telegram take a commission on payments made in a bot? Not for physical goods and services: Telegram states it takes no commission and does not store card data, but the payment provider you connect charges its usual fee. Digital goods and services sold inside Telegram must be paid in Telegram Stars. A common alternative is to skip in-bot payments and have the bot send a payment link from the acquiring you already use.
Can I get a Telegram bot for my business for under $1,000? Yes, if it does one job. With an AI-first team a bot for one business task, such as booking, taking enquiries into your CRM or reporting order status, starts at $750 and takes 3-7 days. The same scope with standard development starts at $3,000 and takes 12-28 days. Each extra task or integration is priced in the scope before work starts.
How much more does a Telegram bot with AI cost? A button bot for one task starts at $750. An AI chatbot that answers questions in Telegram from your own documents costs $1,250-3,750 and takes 3.5-7 days, and a production chatbot connected to your CRM or helpdesk costs $5,000-18,750 over 1.5-3 weeks. Standard development quotes 4 times more for each. Model usage of $100-2,000 a month comes on top.
